Eight Pillars of Inspired Health

EIGHT PILLARS OF INSPIRED HEALTH
Mindset is key: remember that health is holistic!

Health is multifaceted; it is not limited to your diet and exercise routine.
In order to reach optimal health, each of the 8 Pillars of Inspired Health needs attention.

#1 SUNSHINE + NATURE

An abundance of research shows that sunlight and nature helps humans thrive. Living close to nature and spending time in the sun offers a range of benefits including boosted serotonin levels, improved sleep and melatonin release, more energy, lower blood pressure and more. Additionally, even 20-30 minutes of natural sunlight exposure daily can reduce the risk of certain ailments such as type II diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

#2 NUTRITION

“Eat real food. Not too much. Mostly plants.”

Maintaining a balanced diet presents the greatest opportunities as well as the most challenges on any one person’s wellness journey. Our team promotes quality whole foods and proper hydration as a foundation for optimal health.
Our customized nutritional plans begin with lowering and eliminating foods that promote inflammation. Many patients start to see improvement with even minor adjustments in their diet and an increased understanding of their food allergies and sensitivities.

#3 SLEEP

A regular, consistent sleep schedule with an early bedtime allows your brain and body the best opportunity for rest, healing and repair. We are strong believers in the power of quality sleep and help our patients find resting methods that work for them.

#4 MOVEMENT & EXERCISE

The human body is designed to move whether that’s a walk down the street or a hike in the mountains. We help our patients design an achievable movement plan focusing on sunlight exposure and fresh air to help support and repair the hormone and adrenal systems, creating vitality.

#5 BREATH PRACTICE

Stress can single-handedly derail anyone’s wellness journey. Our team believes in creating resilience and providing tools for patients to work towards a practice of responding with mindfulness. This promotes deep belly breathing, re-teaching the diaphragm to relax, and strengthening the Vagus nerve (the nerve that stimulates all of our vital organs).
Simply put, deep breathing is essential for the nervous system and adrenal recovery.

#6 COMMUNITY

Building real, fulfilling relationships with friends and family doesn’t just offer channels of comfort when it’s needed most, but studies show that these deep connections promote longer living. Regular laughter within these relationships is even better.

Find your tribe and invest in them!

#7 CREATIVITY & PLAY

Creativity is a foundational element of human life. It is a habit, a mindset, and a practice that can transform your life and fill it with renewed vitality. Creativity is different for everyone and our team helps unlock the full creative self within each of our patients. If we are talking about longevity, the essence of living a full life includes embracing all elements of joy, laughter, dance – Play more!

# 8 NON-TOXIC HOME

Our modern world is filled with toxins in our environment. Creating a home that is free (or minimal) of chemicals, pesticides and off-gasing products can help eliminate inflammation, and promote optimal health. Examples of home changes to consider: Organic food, filtered water, non-toxic cleaning supplies, natural beauty products, natural fibers (clothing, rugs, mattress, bedding).

“In many shamanic societies, if you came to a medicine person complaining of being disheartened, dispirited, or depressed, they would ask one of four questions: “When did you stop dancing? When did you stop singing? When did you stop being enchanted by stories? When did you stop being comforted by the sweet territory of silence?”
